Graveyard of failed AI projects

Let this thread be a list of failed AI projects. Pls describe the project + add reasons of failure if you know them, so we can have some "Knowledge sharing".

I will start.

Hornbach (seller of construction tools) introduced AI feature in their mobile apps - By scanning a tool or building material, the app would pull up the corresponding product in their catalog. 🛠️ I loved it! It was refreshing to see someone use AI for image classification instead of simple chatGPT integration. I was looking a "broken pipe" at the time and it came really handy to me. However, feature is not available anymore.

Failure reason: I wasn't involved in the project, so I am just guessing here... but, I am pretty sure, that very few people used it and there must have been high costs for getting every new item in the database. So high costs for low values...
